Terms & Conditions

By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies are designed to ensure a smooth, reliable, and respectful experience for both you and Lighten Laundry Co.
 

Scheduling & Turnaround Time

Pickup scheduling is selected by the customer at the time of booking. Lighten Laundry Co. does not operate on fixed service days.

 

We aim to complete all residential orders within 24–48 hours whenever possible. Actual timing may vary based on order size, volume, weather, or unforeseen circumstances. Lighten Laundry Co. will notify customers promptly if delays occur.

 

Commercial turnaround times may vary depending on load size and frequency. Large or ongoing commercial orders may require 48–72 hours unless otherwise arranged in advance.
 

Cancellations & Changes

A $10 same-day cancellation fee applies to pickups canceled on the scheduled service day. Cancellations made in advance are always free.


If Lighten Laundry Co. must cancel for any reason, the customer will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
 

Payment Terms

To reserve your pickup window, payment is required at the time of submission. Once your laundry is in progress, orders cannot be refunded.
 

Laundry Handling & Liability

Damage Disclaimer

Lighten Laundry Co. is not responsible for normal wear, shrinkage, color bleeding, or items left in pockets.
 

Washing & Drying Standards

Unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon in advance:

  • All clothing is washed on warm wash, cold rinse using specified detergent for safe, consistent care.

  • Items are dried on low/medium heat for fabric care using a free & clear dryer sheet unless another option is chosen.

  •  Special sorting requests can be noted at booking.
     

Pickup & Drop-off Instructions

Pickup Preparation: Laundry must be placed outside at the agreed pickup location in a tied, standard 13-gallon kitchen trash bag with no rips or tears. A reasonable amount of laundry is expected in each bag, and any bag that is overfilled or underfilled will be charged as: Overfill: $17.50 additional, Underfill: $35 charged at a full bag rate.
 

Changes to Services & Pricing

Lighten Laundry Co. reserves the right to modify services, pricing, or policies at any time. Updates will be communicated via our website or direct customer contact. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of revised terms.
 

Hanger Service (Hang-to-dry)

If hanger service is requested, customers must provide a separate bag with hangers at pickup. Hung items will be returned in a plastic garment bag unless otherwise agreed upon. Hanger service may add additional processing time.

Return Packaging
Clean laundry will be returned neatly folded in clear protective packaging unless delivered in a Lighten Laundry Co. reusable tote (subscription clients or additional tote purchases).
 

Inventory Responsibility

While we handle every order with care, Lighten Laundry Co. does not provide item-by-item counting or inventory tracking. Customers are responsible for ensuring all items are included prior to pickup, especially small pieces such as socks.
 

Prohibited Items 

For health and safety reasons, we’re unable to accept items contaminated with blood, bodily fluids, pests, or hazardous materials. Items found to contain prohibited substances may result in service refusal and/or disposal.
 

Pet Hair & Excessive Soiling

An additional fee may apply for items with excessive pet hair or heavy soiling that requires extra cleaning.
 

Service Refusal

Lighten Laundry Co. reserves the right to refuse service for items that are unsafe, unsanitary, improperly packaged, or do not comply with our policies.
